Two apps anyone can use to snap a picture of a rock and learn all about it
Truman from Mission Viejo, California is looking for an Android app for a third grader with a passion for geology. Luckily, I know of two apps that can help Truman out.
First, Rock Identifier is an AI rock encyclopedia. All the third grader has to do is take a picture and they’ll be able to identify thousands of rocks for free. You can download it on iOS or Android.
Another app that can help Truman is Minerals Guide. It’s an excellent resource for anyone who wants to learn more about minerals. It has over 4,000 definitions — and it’s helpful for both students and professionals. Overall, it’s a great quick reference tool for anyone interested in mineralogy.
